Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Range is building an AI‑powered wealth‑management platform and needs a senior data engineer to own its data infrastructure at a pivotal growth stage. You will define standards, architecture, and the core data model while embedding governance for current and future regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the foundational data model, deciding grain, slowly changing dimensions, snapshot strategy, and conventions for staging and mart layers.
• Define and enforce standards for testing, documentation, orchestration, and alerting across all data infrastructure.
• Design, build, and operate ingestion pipelines using Fivetran, dbt, and Python, implementing quality checks and alerting.
• Architect role‑based access and audit controls to scale governance with the platform.
• Partner with the Head of Data and Analytics to evaluate and execute a long‑term data platform migration.

Required profile

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, including senior ownership of data initiatives.
• Production experience with modern data toolsets such as dbt, cloud warehouses/lakehouses, and orchestration/ingestion tools.
• Strong dimensional modeling fundamentals and experience designing type‑1/type‑2 SCDs.
• Proven track record of establishing documentation, testing, and alerting standards on a team.
