Senior Counsel, Privacy & Data Security

About the role

FanDuel is looking for an experienced privacy and data security attorney to join its Legal team in New York City. Reporting to the Counsel Vice President, you will provide strategic legal advice on privacy, data protection, AI regulations and incident response across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and update privacy notices for FanDuel’s products and services.
• Review and negotiate privacy and data security provisions in vendor and partner contracts.
• Advise business teams on state privacy laws, AI regulations and data security best practices.
• Support cybersecurity incident preparation and response efforts.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance stakeholders to ensure comprehensive risk review.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a top‑tier law school and active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years of dedicated privacy and data security experience in a leading law firm or in‑house at a large corporation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail‑oriented, results‑driven approach.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy and data security laws, including emerging AI regulations.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating technology transaction agreements.
• Familiarity with incident response planning and cybersecurity best practices.
