Senior Consultant, Tax Technology

About the role

Ryan is hiring a Senior Consultant, Tax Technology in Dallas. The consultant works with internal stakeholders and external clients to identify business challenges, analyze tax processes and systems, and design scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency and client value. The role covers requirements analysis, process design, data evaluation, ETL, solution configuration, testing and documentation, using tools such as Alteryx, Power BI, Databricks and Microsoft Power Platform.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional specifications and solution designs.
• Analyze existing processes to find inefficiencies and build scalable, documented process and solution designs.
• Create, configure, implement, test and support business and technology solutions, and build and document test scenarios.
• Assist with data gathering, extraction, reconciliation and analysis, and help resolve client inquiries.
• Deliver client documentation, reports and presentations, and contribute to project plans, timelines and risk escalation.
• Mentor junior team members and review work products for accuracy, completeness and data integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, information systems, computer science, technology, data analytics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in consulting, business analysis, tax technology, technology implementation, ETL, process improvement or a related professional services environment.
• Preferred: experience in tax, finance, accounting, enterprise technology or client solutions environments, and experience with tax engines and ERP integration.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver's license required; no supervisory responsibilities.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel preferred.
• ETL, data transformation and low-code/no-code tools such as Alteryx (required or strongly preferred).
• Power Platform, Power BI and data visualization tools preferred; Databricks and data lakes a plus.
• SQL or similar query languages preferred; REST, SOAP, JSON and XML.
• Tax engines (Vertex, OneSource, Avalara) and ERP integration (strongly preferred SAP, S/4HANA, ECC).
• Project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Planner, Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana or ClickUp.
