Senior Clinical Application Analyst

About the role

The Senior Clinical Application Analyst supports IT EMR Services at UAMS, focusing on Epic Ambulatory and Healthy/Compass Rose applications. Working with minimal supervision, the analyst ensures system efficiency, integrity, and alignment with clinical and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure, test, support, and maintain assigned Epic applications.
• Analyze user needs, translate requirements into system workflows, and perform root‑cause analysis for issues.
• Coordinate issue resolution with end users, IT teams, vendors, and leadership.
• Test system changes, upgrades, and new functionality to minimize risk.
• Monitor applications post‑implementation to ensure data integrity and stability.
• Develop and maintain documentation, audit trails, change controls, and operating procedures.
• Participate in IT projects, including implementations, upgrades, and testing, using project management tools.
• Provide mentorship to junior analysts and maintain required certifications.

Required profile

• Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate’s degree or high school diploma combined with relevant experience (minimum 3‑9 years depending on education level).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Epic Ambulatory (Healthy/Compass Rose) – certification required or obtainable within 12 months
• System troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and data collection
