Senior Clinical Application Analyst

About the role

The Senior Clinical Application Analyst supports the IT EMR Services team at UAMS, focusing on Epic Ambulatory and Healthy Planet/Compass Rose applications. Working with minimal supervision, the analyst ensures system efficiency, integrity, and alignment with clinical and operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure, test, support, and maintain assigned Epic applications.
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into system workflows and functional specifications.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and coordinate resolutions with users, IT teams, vendors, and leadership.
• Test system changes, upgrades, and new functionality to minimize risk.
• Maintain documentation, change controls, audit trails, and support application security and role‑based access.
• Lead or participate in IT projects, including implementations, upgrades, and evaluations.
• Mentor junior analysts and stay current with certifications and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate’s degree or high school diploma combined with relevant experience (minimum 3‑9 years depending on education level).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Epic Ambulatory (Healthy/Compass Rose) – certification required or obtainable within 12 months
