Senior Client Manager, Employee Health & Benefits

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is hiring a Senior Client Manager for its Employee Health & Benefits practice in Atlanta. The role acts as the primary client contact, balancing client service, compliance and strategic planning, and covers fully insured, level-funded and ASO plans.

Key responsibilities

• Respond quickly to new client inquiries, give regular status updates and escalate issues to the Account Executive when needed
• Maintain client relationships through 30-day check-in calls and ongoing communication with carrier representatives on coverage, issues and legislative changes
• Advise clients on the operational, financial and risk-transfer implications of funding options, and coordinate with carriers, stop-loss providers and TPAs on billing, premium reconciliation, risk corridors and funding reporting
• Support cost-modeling and scenario analysis during renewals, and help clients weigh cash flow, risk exposure and plan flexibility
• Handle compliance: coordinate Form 5500 filings and advise on PCORI fees, Medicare Part D, Section 125, ACA and COBRA
• Oversee enrollment and renewal, confirm benefits, rates and employee contributions, arrange carrier training for client HR teams, prepare benefit guides and presentations, and gather claims data and employee feedback
• Take part in quarterly client calls and prospect meetings, and work with the Account Executive and marketing team on competitive renewal strategies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and related training
• 5+ years of relevant insurance industry experience
• Strong client relations, communication and service skills, with tactfulness in resolving client and company problems
• Understanding of fully insured, level-funded and ASO funding mechanisms

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Life & Health license or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment (a plus)
• Request for proposal experience (a plus)
