Senior Auditor - IT Systems and FIAR Compliance

About the role

The Senior Auditor supports a client's effort to become FIAR compliant by supervising project staff, giving technical guidance on work assignments, performing major parts of the engagement independently and acting as liaison between project staff and the project manager. The role covers IT system audits, legacy system analysis and coordination with financial statement audit resources.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate computer-based systems and audit general and application controls in complex IT environments
• Analyze legacy systems for compliance with OSD FIAR guidance and analyze software systems and document requirements per FIAR methodology
• Conduct assessments, identify weaknesses and propose, test and implement solutions
• Coordinate with financial statement audit resources and teams on back-office operations such as contracting, supply chain/asset management and human resources
• Participate in FISCAM activities, including access, security, configuration management, segregation of duties, contingency and business application controls
• Assist in reviews, approval presentations and assertion packages for system changes
• Support the Financial Management Process and verify requirements for completeness, consistency and conformity to standards
• Prepare reports and recommendations on financial systems across the organization

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or another technical field with at least 24 semester hours in accounting
• Continuing professional education in line with the Yellow Book
• At least 4 years of audit, accounting or financial and management advisory experience
• Proficiency in GAAP, GAAS, federal regulations and relevant industry practices
• Currently holds or can obtain a SECRET security clearance

Required skills

• Two years of system-oriented audit experience (BLUE-BOOK, FISCAM, FISMA)
• Two years of system implementation audit experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Data import for reporting software, spreadsheets, graphs and flowcharts
• Team collaboration, project management and strong communication skills
