Senior Associate, Credit Manager

About the role

The Senior Associate, Credit Manager works within a team building the correspondent network sourcing channel and investment strategy for AB CarVal U.S. loan portfolios. The role assesses and manages credit risk on loan portfolios sourced through correspondent networks, monitors credit quality, evaluates potential borrowers, sets credit limits and terms, and ensures compliance with credit policies. It reports to the Director, Investment Operations and is based in Minnesota.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain underwriting guidelines and credit criteria
• Develop and implement the mortgage originator onboarding and diligence process with internal functions
• Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers using financial data, credit reports and other information
• Determine appropriate credit limits, terms and conditions for investments
• Monitor portfolio performance, run regular credit reviews and develop risk mitigation strategies
• Maintain the due diligence review process and a quality control review process, including communication with third-party vendors
• Provide insights and recommendations to support investment decisions and communicate regularly with senior management and stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or a related field
• 5+ years of credit risk management experience in the mortgage or banking industries
• Knowledge of credit analysis techniques, scoring models and risk assessment methodologies
• Experience with regulatory and compliance standards
• Excellent oral and written communication, organization and attention to detail

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate financial data
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and analysis

What we offer

• Base salary range of $110,000 to $155,000, depending on education, experience and other factors
