Senior Applied AI/ML Scientist - Retailer Growth

About the role

Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers worldwide. Its Applied AI/ML Scientists build algorithmic solutions for notification and recommender systems, advertising attribution and LTV predictions. This role sits on the Retailer Growth Data team, which focuses on paid marketing and top-of-funnel acquisition channels, developing AI/ML systems that activate new retailers and increase their engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Drive data science vision, strategy and execution within Retailer Growth, using AI/ML to activate and engage more retailers
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders to develop end-to-end product solutions
• Extract behavioral insights with AI to automate AEO content creation and personalize the user landing experience
• Optimize marketing capital allocation through targeting and bidding optimization
• Run experiments and causal inference to measure the impact of growth levers
• Build scalable solutions for the complexities of a two-sided marketplace

Required profile

• 3+ years of industry experience applying machine learning to real-world problems
• Experience with e-commerce business problems
• Ability to design and implement ML solutions without supervision
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques

Required skills

• LTV modeling, NLP, LLMs, causal ML and bidding optimization
• Strong programming skills

Great to have: a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics or a related STEM field; paid marketing or growth experience focused on SEO and AEO; experience with LLMs and programmatic content generation.

• Pay range of $211,000 to $290,500 per year in San Francisco, plus equity and benefits
