Senior Actuarial Analyst

About the role

HCSC is hiring a Senior Actuarial Analyst in Chicago. The role covers the implementation, maintenance and detailed analysis of models, studies and systems that use actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions, including running and developing complex models and presenting findings to decision makers.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in implementing, maintaining and analysing actuarial models, studies and systems used for pricing, underwriting, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions
• Run and develop complex models and analyse their results in detail
• Develop simple written and oral presentations that give basic information for decision making

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics; other bachelor's degrees or higher may be considered
• Completion of 3 ASA exam equivalents based on the Society of Actuaries' Education and Examination System
• At least 2 years of actuarial experience
• Verbal and written communication skills for documentation, training and presentations
• PC proficiency including Word and Excel
• Preferred: access to SQL, Visual Basic or other programming skills, and actuarial experience in health insurance or a related field

What we offer

• Base pay range of $69,800 to $125,900, varying with skills, experience and location
