Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant with proven experience in the vacation‑rental industry to join our fully remote team. The successful candidate will lead client onboarding, design tailored accounting workflows, and ensure accurate financial reporting for short‑term rental owners and property managers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead onboarding of new vacation‑rental clients, configuring accounting systems and trust‑account structures.
• Customize and streamline accounting workflows to match each client’s operational model.
• Prepare, review and close month‑end financial statements, reconciliations and owner statements.
• Work directly with vacation‑rental platforms such as property‑management systems, channel managers and trust‑accounting tools.
• Maintain compliance with industry‑specific accounting standards and best practices.
• Identify process improvements and implement scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance efficiency and client experience.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert for vacation‑rental accounting matters.

Required profile

• 5+ years of senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in the vacation‑rental sector.
• Hands‑on experience with trust accounting, owner statements and property‑level reporting.
• Proven track record of onboarding new clients and setting up accounting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (or similar accounting software).
• AppFolio or other vacation‑rental‑focused platforms.
• Property‑management systems (PMS) and channel‑manager integrations.
• Trust‑accounting systems.
