Senior Accountant – Orange, CA

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Accountant to join a growing client in Orange, CA. The role combines hands‑on accounting work with mentorship of junior staff, while driving process improvements and delivering financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting tasks in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Lead month‑end close activities and maintain general‑ledger schedules such as accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and inventory.
• Prepare internal financial reports, management packages, and perform financial analysis.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff accountants; mentor junior team members.
• Oversee accounts payable, invoice review, payment scheduling, credit‑card transactions, and bank reconciliations.
• Monitor cash disbursements, assist with cash‑management reporting, and flag discrepancies.
• Utilize QuickBooks Online and Excel for reporting, cost‑center allocations, and support process‑improvement initiatives.
• Assist with tax filings (federal, state, sales, property) and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in private industry.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
