Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the financial close process for J.Sann & Son, a newly launched cigar brand with manufacturing, hospitality, and e‑commerce operations in Miami, FL. You will ensure accurate reporting, support audits, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP.
• Complete month‑end and year‑end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and amortization.
• Reconcile bank statements, subsidiary ledgers, and intercompany accounts.
• Support external audits by providing documentation and information.
• Maintain manufacturing accounting data, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold for cigar production.
• Assist hospitality and e‑commerce revenue recognition, POS‑to‑GL reconciliation, and margin analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite.
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Toast and their integration to accounting platforms.
