Security Officer - Perimeter Patrol

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring an unarmed Security Officer for perimeter patrol at a retail location in Coopersville, Michigan. The officer monitors and patrols assigned areas, keeps a visible presence to deter incidents and supports a welcoming environment for shoppers and staff. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, employees and vendors by following site procedures, access-control protocols and emergency response activities.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of interior common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, delivery zones and the surrounding perimeter to spot and report unusual activity or hazards.
• Monitor access points, visitor and vendor activity and retail operations to help prevent unauthorized access, theft and policy violations.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents and customer concerns, notifying the right people and documenting events.
• Complete activity logs, patrol reports and incident records, and share relevant information during shift changes and with leadership.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation and drug screening as conditions of employment; licensing may be required depending on state and local law.
• A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.

Required skills

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
