Part-Time Loss Prevention Officer

About the role

The Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach is hiring a part-time Loss Prevention Officer. The officer patrols the property, monitors security systems and responds to incidents while assisting guests and employees.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and assist guests with room access
• Monitor closed-circuit television, perimeter alarm system, duress alarms and fire life safety system
• Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily physical hazard inspections
• Respond to accidents, call EMS or administer first aid/CPR as needed, and help guests and employees during emergencies
• Defuse disturbances, escort unwelcome persons off the property and report accidents, thefts and vehicle accidents to the scene
• Complete incident reports, shift summaries and daily activity reports, and investigate incidents and gather evidence
• Maintain confidentiality of security reports and proprietary information, and follow company policies and safety training
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and speak clearly and professionally

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• No related work experience or supervisory experience required
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods and move quickly to respond to situations
• Physical ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds unassisted and more with assistance, and to climb stairs and uneven surfaces
• Some states may require additional licensing or registration
