Security Architect - Vice President

About the role

Deutsche Bank is looking for a Senior Security Architect (Vice President) in Jacksonville, Florida. The role designs and implements the bank's cybersecurity capabilities across cloud, on-premises, SaaS and hybrid environments, moving security solutions from proof of concept through production. It is a hands-on architecture role for an engineer who has progressed into architecture and works with engineering, cloud, application, infrastructure and security teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise security architectures across cloud, SaaS, on-premises and hybrid environments, aligned with regulatory, privacy, data protection and resiliency requirements.
• Lead deployment and operation of capabilities such as Purple Teaming, breach and attack simulation, malware analysis, security testing, monitoring, incident response and threat detection.
• Drive security technologies from proof of concept through production, including evaluation, architecture, integration, licensing, vendor management and deployment.
• Secure cloud environments, including Google Cloud, with identity and access management, networking security, workload protection, encryption, logging, monitoring and data security controls.
• Embed secure-by-design principles, RBAC, access controls and lifecycle security in application development, cloud transformation and migration.
• Establish reusable security standards, patterns and governance frameworks aligned with NIST and industry best practices, and enable secure adoption of AI-powered cybersecurity with guardrails, automation and monitoring.
• Lead architecture and implementation of cybersecurity solutions, partnering with Security Engineering, Cloud, Infrastructure, Application Development, Enterprise Architecture, Risk, Audit and vendor teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cybersecurity engineering and security architecture, with a track record of delivering security technologies into large-scale enterprise production environments.
• Experience leading technology evaluations, PoCs, product selection, sizing, licensing and vendor management, and supporting cloud transformation and migration.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across technical and executive teams.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
• Preferred: experience in financial services or other highly regulated environments, and a proven track record of enterprise cybersecurity platforms and large-scale security programs.

Required skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and working knowledge of Azure.
• Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, encryption, application security, data protection, network security and cloud security best practices.
• Preferred: cloud-native security, containers, Terraform, infrastructure-as-code, security automation, MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, and certifications such as CISSP, CISM or TOGAF, with Google Cloud credentials preferred.
