Second Shift Production Supervisor

About the role

ABB in Fort Smith, Arkansas is hiring a Second Shift Production Supervisor for its Motion NEMA Motors Division. The role reports to the Production Manager and ensures efficient, cost-effective production that meets order demand, specifications, quality and planning targets through coordination of plant equipment, personnel and production processes. It is an on-site position, second shift Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Key responsibilities

• Production planning and execution: keep production schedules and plans aligned with demand volume and inventory service levels, prepare and maintain departmental schedules, act as backup supervisor when needed, and manage timekeeping and HR-related tasks for assigned employees.
• Operational performance and continuous improvement: identify deficiencies in production areas, recommend technical equipment or facility improvements, and oversee their implementation to raise productivity, quality and overall performance.
• Leadership and team development: maintain employee confidence through fairness, integrity and consistency, facilitate training, enforce company policies and foster a professional, collaborative environment as part of the Fort Smith management team.
• Safety, quality and issue resolution: ensure compliance with safety, housekeeping and quality standards, and work with internal teams to resolve critical product or equipment issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of experience, or an Associate's degree with at least 4 years, or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years.
• Preferred: supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, Lean Six Sigma certification, shopfloor display experience.
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the United States.
