Seasonal RN Med-Surg (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a seasonal PRN Registered Nurse for its Med-Surg unit in Zephyrhills, Florida. The nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers care, and works with the care team to coordinate patient care on the assigned unit.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and analyze the health status of patients on the assigned unit and document assessments according to policy and procedure
• Report significant findings to the health care team and initiate discharge planning
• Plan and implement individualized patient care plans, updating them as needed
• Communicate the plan of care through daily worksheet conferences, verbal handoffs and shift reports
• Direct care team members within their scope of practice and transcribe and direct the implementation of physician orders
• Educate patients, evaluate their understanding and review patient outcomes
• Complete competency testing, maintain current licensure and certifications, attend in-services and 80% of department meetings
• Take part in performance improvement activities such as Core Measures and collaborate with the nurse leader on policy and procedure changes

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and at least 2 years of RN experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Pay range: $31.85 - $52.76. Positions are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting.
