Seasonal Registered Nurse ICU - Day Shift

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift Registered Nurse for its ICU unit in Lake Placid, Florida. The nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers their care and works with the health care team. The position is listed as seasonal.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and analyze the health status of patients on the assigned unit, including admission and ongoing assessments, and report significant findings to the health care team
• Initiate discharge planning and formulate an individualized plan of care, updating it as the patient's condition changes
• Direct and coordinate patient care activities, communicate the plan of care through daily conferences and shift reports, and direct care team members within their scope of practice
• Transcribe and direct the implementation of physician orders and provide patient education based on assessed needs
• Evaluate patient outcomes and document the effectiveness of interventions, including Core Measure indicators
• Complete competency testing and skills validation, attend department in-services and 80% of department meetings, and collaborate with the nurse leader on policy and procedure changes

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state)
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• 2+ years of PRN RN experience (required); 1+ year of RN experience preferred
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Basic computer skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

Pay range: $31.85 - $50.90. Florida Level 2 background screening applies to certain positions.
