Seasonal PRN Orthopedic Nurse

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a seasonal PRN Registered Nurse for its orthopedic unit in Port Charlotte, Florida. The nurse works day shifts, follows infection prevention precautions and medication safety policies, and provides individualized plans of care for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Set measurable short- and long-range goals for patients and implement individualized plans of care, updating them as needed
• Complete follow-up assessments and communicate with patients, families and visitors, including hourly rounding
• Communicate thoroughly with the interdisciplinary team and complete hand-offs
• Manage staff assignments, patient flow, conflict resolution, rounding and unit audits/checklists
• Assess and interpret diagnostic data such as lab results and monitoring data
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of relevant clinical nurse experience preferred
• English fluency, spoken and written
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state

Required skills

• EKG interpretation (based on patient population)
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, Cerner preferred
• Organizational, multi-tasking, prioritization and problem-solving skills
