PCU RN Night Shift Contract

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a contract Registered Nurse for its PCU (Post-Care Unit) night shift in Port Charlotte, Florida. The schedule is 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 36 hours per week, at a pay rate of $51.80 per hour. StaffFlex nurses can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, collect and document health data, and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and timely, and document actions taken
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer, and take part in peer review
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families
• Advocate for patients, ensure safe handoffs, and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use
• Participate in quality, safety and efficiency initiatives and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
• 2+ years of PCU nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Registered Nurse license, BLS/CPR certification, ACLS certification and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing); basic computer skills with Microsoft Windows programs
