Science Teacher (Physical/Life) – Woodland Park Middle School

About the role

The school is seeking a qualified Science Teacher to deliver integrated Physical and Life Science instruction to middle‑school students for the 2026/2027 academic year. The role involves planning and delivering engaging lessons, supervising laboratory work, and fostering scientific curiosity.

Key responsibilities

• Teach life and physical science concepts using the district’s curriculum, demonstrations, lectures, discussions, and hands‑on experiments.
• Develop and manage laboratory activities, ensuring safe handling of chemicals, equipment, and living specimens.
• Provide individualized or small‑group instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Maintain inventory of science supplies, request repairs, and ensure proper storage of materials.
• Assess student progress, prepare reports, and communicate with parents and counselors.
• Support extracurricular science activities such as fairs, clubs, and contests.

Required profile

• Valid California credential authorizing instruction in Physical Science and Life Science.
• Knowledge of scientific concepts, pedagogical methods, and safety procedures.
• Ability to create a balanced instructional program that includes experiments and demonstrations.
• Strong classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment.

Required skills
