School Nurse (RN) – Part‑Time – Bay St. Louis

About the role

The RN School Nurse provides nursing care to students within a school system, ensuring health, comfort, and safety while applying the Nursing Process and adhering to state and school guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Administer nursing care and health services to students in the school setting.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate student care.
• Assess learning needs and deliver appropriate health education to students, families, and staff.
• Collect, document, and retrieve patient information using computer systems.
• Promote a positive environment that enhances student satisfaction and supports nursing professionalism.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma (required); Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Computer data‑entry skills and proficiency with Windows‑style applications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid RN licensure.
