About the role

The Isidore Newman School Nurse (RN) provides direct nursing care to students within the school setting, ensuring health, comfort, and safety. This part‑time position works Monday‑Friday from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm and is essential to the school’s health program.

Key responsibilities

• Administer nursing care under the school system guidelines and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate student health needs.
• Provide health education and teaching strategies tailored to diverse student and family needs.
• Maintain accurate patient records using computer systems and ensure data confidentiality.
• Participate in the implementation and evaluation of student care programs.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• No prior work experience required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Ability to use Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software.
