SAR Payload Systems Engineer – Fully Remote

About the role

Our client is seeking a SAR Payload Systems Engineer to lead the definition, design, integration, verification and sustainment of SAR payload subsystems for current and next‑generation Earth‑observation satellites. The position is fully remote within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and trace payload requirements from mission level down to subsystem level.
• Design SAR payload architecture, including antenna arrays, RF front‑end Tx/Rx, digital beamforming, processing chain, digital electronics, power, thermal and mass budgets.
• Lead conceptual, preliminary and detailed design studies, produce ICDs, and review schematics and layouts.
• Perform performance simulations, tolerance budgeting, and support SAR algorithm development.
• Develop the payload verification master plan and lead test automation, reporting, and environmental/EMC testing.
• Support mission operations through health monitoring, anomaly root‑cause analysis, telemetry analysis and operator training.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with 5+ years of experience in remote sensing system development, integration and test on LEO/MEO missions.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills; ability to work with little supervision.
• US citizen or permanent resident with fluent English (French a plus).
