Sales Engineer - Brand Partnerships
Faire · New York City
Job description
About the role
Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers worldwide with products from brands. Its Brand Partnerships team brings brands onto the platform, and the Sales Engineer is the technical counterpart to Enterprise Account Executives across North America and Europe, partnering with Brand Success Managers. The role owns the technical win from the first discovery call through integration go-live and helps turn integration into a repeatable motion. It is a quota-carrying role reporting to Christopher Dittmer.
Key responsibilities
- Run technical discovery with Enterprise AEs, map the brand's stack (commerce platform, ERP, WMS/3PL, shipping and label tools, EDI or middleware) and flag risks early
- Build the business case for integration, including timeline, total cost and operational hours saved
- Recommend the integration path: native app (Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop), middleware or EDI partner, or custom build on the API
- Work with brand IT teams and partners through setup and testing, then hand off to Brand Success Managers and Integration Support
- Resolve complex escalations such as inventory drift, pricing discrepancies, catalog mapping and order/fulfillment sync
- Extend discovery tools, solution design templates and reference architectures into a repeatable motion
- Act as the voice of brands' technical needs, routing some to other paths and bringing quantified business cases to Product and Engineering
Required profile
- 4+ years in a customer-facing technical role (sales engineering, solutions engineering, solutions consulting or integration consulting)
- Track record of winning complex, multi-stakeholder deals as technical lead alongside an AE
- Ability to translate technical constraints into business terms for executives and business requirements into technical plans for engineers
- Commercial instincts and ability to make processes repeatable
- Curiosity about AI and comfort working across time zones for NAM and EU teams
- Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco or New York City
Required skills
- Hands-on experience with at least one ERP (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, SAP or similar) and one middleware or iPaaS platform (Celigo or similar); Shopify experience strongly preferred
- REST APIs, OAuth and JSON; SQL is a plus
- EDI experience (850, 856, 810, 846) and experience with international brands (multi-currency, VAT) are a plus
What we offer
- OTE pay range of $200,000 to $225,000 per year in San Francisco and New York City, plus equity and benefits
- Paid time off, recharge days, paid parental leave up to 16 weeks and comprehensive health coverage
- Fertility and family-building benefits, mental health support, professional development stipends and a retirement plan
- Hybrid work: 3 days in the office per week, with remote work up to 4 weeks per year
