Roofing Inspector

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking a Commercial Roofing Inspector to ensure roofing applications comply with the Florida Building Code and related municipal regulations. The role involves on‑site inspections, plan reviews, and coordination with owners, officials, and designers.

Key responsibilities

• Review roofing applications for code compliance and enforce roofing protocols.
• Document daily construction activities and reject incomplete submittals.
• Interface with building owners, officials, and designers to facilitate permit approvals.
• Conduct inspections of foundations, alterations, repairs, and building systems to verify compliance with the Florida Building Code.
• Identify non‑compliance issues and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in the construction field.
• Knowledge of the Florida Building Code.
• State of Florida Commercial Roofing Inspector License (required).
• State of Florida Building Inspector and/or Plan Reviewer license (desirable).
• Additional licenses such as Standard Inspector (BN), Plans Examiner (PX), Registered Architect (RA), Professional Engineer (PE), or General Contractor (GC) are a plus.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong oral communication and information‑organization skills.
• Proficiency in conducting plan reviews and building inspections.
