Robotics Support Engineer

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics and needs a Robotics Support Engineer in Austin to lead its US service operations. You will act as the primary technical expert on‑site, handling hands‑on solutions engineering while establishing a robust support framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end service and support operations across the United States as the foundational technical expert.
• During the initial three‑month ramp‑up, work hands‑on with RobCo’s proprietary stack (Robflow, Robvision, PLCs, electrics, safety systems).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues on physical robotic machinery.
• Read, analyze, and debug Python code and interface with machine communication protocols such as IO, Modbus TCP, Profinet, Profibus, and IO‑Link.
• Prioritize and drive field escalations, documenting bugs and hardware requirements for seamless handoffs to engineering teams.
• Build strong relationships with US customers, clearly communicating technical issues and solutions.

Required profile

• Vocational training or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, Robotics, or comparable practical experience.
• Several years of field service engineering, technical support, or solutions engineering in robotics or industrial automation.
• Fast‑learning, hands‑on mindset with a strong sense of ownership and self‑organization.
• Excellent English communication skills; German is a plus.
