Robotics Software Engineer – Forward Deployed (Senior)

About the role

RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics and needs a Forward Deployed Engineer in the US to bridge software, product engineering and real‑world customer applications. Based in Austin, you will work on custom robotic solutions, integrate vision and peripheral systems, and contribute to the core software platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop custom robotic software solutions, including motion generators, kinematic logic and automation workflows on the RobCo stack.
• Integrate peripherals and computer‑vision systems (RobVision platform and third‑party sensors) into customer deployments.
• Deploy, commission and debug solutions on real robots at customer sites alongside the Solution Engineering team.
• Translate field requirements into product decisions and turn recurring custom work into product features.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of robotics software engineering experience across control, backend services and frontend.
• Hands‑on experience with physical robots, preferably industrial arms or manipulators.
• Strong ownership mentality, resourceful problem‑solving and ability to work with minimal direction.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within the US.
