Robotic General Surgery Fellowship – 1 Year Clinical Training

About the role

The Lehigh Valley Health Network offers a one‑year, full‑time Robotic General Surgery Fellowship beginning July 1, 2027. Fellows will train at multiple LVHN campuses, gaining extensive hands‑on experience in advanced robotic procedures and clinical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Perform a minimum of 150 complex robotic cases, serving as primary console surgeon or teaching assistant.
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary conferences, morbidity & mortality reviews, and journal clubs.
• Conduct dedicated research time, publish at least one peer‑reviewed manuscript, and present at national conferences.

Required profile

• Completion of an ACGME‑accredited General Surgery residency by July 1, 2027.
• Board‑eligible or board‑certified in General Surgery.
• Valid Pennsylvania medical license (or eligibility) and DEA registration.

Required skills

• Proficiency in robotic surgical systems and minimally invasive techniques.
• Experience with simulation training and GEARS (Global Evaluative Assessment of Robotic Skills) assessments.
• Ability to conduct surgical outcomes research and present findings.
