Road Logistics Operations Supervisor

About the role

As a Road Logistics Operations Supervisor you will lead the safe and efficient movement of materials and finished goods for Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team. You will oversee daily logistics activities, manage a team of logistics staff, and ensure that shipments meet timeliness, accuracy, and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate shipping, receiving, and inventory management activities.
• Supervise logistics personnel and track performance against KPIs.
• Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and monitor carrier performance metrics.
• Manage warehouse operations and resolve operational issues.
• Develop and publish productivity, workflow, and financial performance measures.
• Investigate shipment exceptions, handle cargo claims, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist in creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the Road Logistics Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business or related field (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in transportation, covering parcel, LTL, and truckload modes.
• Experience with carrier price and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of cargo claims rules and practices.
• Strong customer service orientation and analytical abilities.
