Floating Assistant Manager - Vehicle Inspection Facility

About the role

Parsons is seeking a people‑first Floating Assistant Manager to lead on‑site teams at multiple Vehicle Inspection Facilities in New Jersey. You will travel between stations during the workday, ensuring safe, efficient operations and excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the on‑site manager at assigned stations, leading a frontline team of 5+ lane technicians.
• Travel across facilities in your coverage area to provide leadership coverage and operational support.
• Own daily operations including staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, throughput, quality, and customer‑satisfaction goals.
• Enforce safety policies and SOPs, model a compliant and productive work environment.
• Handle customer escalations, explain inspection results in plain language, and manage documentation such as emissions forms and repair receipts.
• Support hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations and conduct corrective actions when needed.
• Track and communicate key metrics (wait times, throughput, quality, feedback) and lead continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide coverage at other facilities as required and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with ability to operate a manual‑transmission vehicle.
• Ability to travel between facilities within the assigned coverage area during the workday.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience leading teams of five or more.
• Completion of Parsons’ industry‑specific training (provided).
