Motor Vehicle Inspector

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Motor Vehicle Inspector to perform comprehensive vehicle safety and emissions inspections in New Jersey. The role involves interacting with customers, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete vehicle safety and emissions inspections within the lane and enter data into the computer.
• Ensure accuracy of inspection data such as vehicle type, engine size, inspection results, and stickers.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area by removing oil, water, and other materials from the lane and equipment.
• Provide courteous customer service and clearly explain inspection results to customers.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain a New Jersey inspector’s license upon employment (paid training provided).

Required skills

• Good oral communication.
• Customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills (preferred).
