RN – Wound Care

About the role

Ochsner is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in wound care to join a compassionate, inclusive team. The RN will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and reassess care for patients with wound, ostomy, and skin integrity needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with acute or chronic wounds, pressure ulcers, vascular ulcers, and related conditions.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to develop individualized care plans, including nutritional and psychosocial considerations.
• Educate patients and staff on wound prevention, management, and ostomy care.
• Lead and coordinate interprofessional teams to ensure safe, effective, and patient‑centered wound care.
• Evaluate and recommend updates to policies, procedures, and protocols related to wound management.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years of wound‑care experience preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred certifications: Wound Treatment Associate, WOCN, WCC, or CWS.

• Proficiency with computers, software, web‑based applications, and electronic health records.
• Effective verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
