About the role

The Registered Nurse will provide patient care on the Transplant Stepdown unit at OMC Jeff Hwy, working day shifts. The role involves applying the Nursing Process, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring high‑quality outcomes for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care.
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and staff.
Delegate, coordinate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
Use data and knowledge to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Ochsner’s policies.

Required profile

Registered Nurse diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required skills

Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
Experience with Windows‑style applications and related software packages.
