RN Surgery Weekender Flex – Cardiothoracic OR

About the role

The RN Surgery Weekender Flex position supports the Cardiothoracic Operating Room at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. You will work two 12‑hour weekend shifts and one 12‑hour weekday shift, receiving full‑time status and benefits while only working 36 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Perform scrub functions (selecting and handling instruments) and circulating functions (monitoring patient condition, managing overall nursing care before, during, and after surgery).
• Assist the operating physician with tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, and equipment for use.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) with current RN licensure.
• One year of RN experience or completion of Cleveland Clinic peri‑operative residency.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six months of hire.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb, and handle equipment in a fast‑paced OR environment.
