RN StaffFlex PCU Day (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a day-shift PRN position in its PCU (Pulse Care Unit) in Overland Park, Kansas. The nurse works on a flexible schedule and provides patient care in line with hospital policy and interdisciplinary goals.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and continuously, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
• Implement interventions from the plan of care safely and document actions taken.
• Collect and document patient health data systematically and on time.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, following protocols and ensuring patient safety.
• Collaborate with colleagues and follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer to promote timely placement.
• Educate patients and families on their conditions, procedures and care plans.
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives.
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs, and follow CDC isolation guidelines, PPE use and hand hygiene.
• Use medical supplies and equipment responsibly and communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state.
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing).
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC certification preferred.

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.

The pay range listed is $15.00 - $130.00.
