RN Med/Surg Traveler (36 hrs, $61.25/hr)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a registered nurse for a 36-hour-per-week day shift in Overland Park, Kansas. The position is open to StaffFlex nurses, who can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states. The pay is $61.25 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document them, and collect patient health data systematically
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and educate patients and families
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement
• Take part in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• BLS/CPR certification required; TNCC certification preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
