Registered Nurse OR Circulator - PRN

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse or Circulator on a PRN basis in its South Overland Park facility (Overland Park, Kansas). The role covers patient assessment, care planning, medication administration and discharge planning, and is open to nurses with operating room experience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, emotional and social health status.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with goals and interventions, and adjust them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document progress in the electronic medical record.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans and self-care.
• Supervise nursing personnel and use standardized tools for safe handoffs during shifts and transfers.
• Perform and oversee complex interventions with aseptic technique and infection control.
• Provide discharge planning and engage in ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Registered Nurse license (required).
• Fluent English, speaking, reading and writing.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment and on irregular hours including call hours.
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Basic RN nursing skills, computer literacy and medical terminology.
• Basic telemetry (PACU) and basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word.
• Preferred: previous surgery experience, circulating, scrub and PACU skills, AORN standards, ASPAN standards, critical care skills, admission/discharge skills, and certifications such as CNOR, CPAN, NRP, BLS.

Pay range: $34.04 - $63.31.
