RN Prostate Navigator

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time, day-shift RN Prostate Navigator in Denver, Colorado. The nurse provides care and guidance to patients from first contact through the continuum of care, acting as a bridge between patients, their families and the clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Guide patients on treatment plans, appointment steps and follow-up scheduling, and track referral and treatment outcomes with detailed records.
• Develop and implement patient education programs and tools, and provide psychosocial support including support groups.
• Educate patients about clinical trials, resource referrals and counseling, and advocate for them and their families.
• Build relationships with physicians, office staff, community resources and providers, and act as liaison between specialists, primary care physicians and patients.
• Coordinate community education programs, health fairs and local events, and educate other healthcare team members.
• Attend national, regional and local conferences related to the program and the RN Navigator role.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• 1+ year of acute care nursing experience (required); 1+ year in an oncology setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
• Organizational skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently.
• In-depth knowledge of diagnosis, treatment and age-appropriate patient education, and working knowledge of insurance coverage and procedures.

Required skills

• Keyboarding and general computer proficiency.
• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) and electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
