RN or Coordinator - Unit Leadership

About the role

AdventHealth in Denver is hiring a Registered Nurse or coordinator to lead, support and coordinate the daily operations of a unit during a designated shift. The role directs and prioritizes shift activities so that patient care and staff needs are met, and acts as a liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and coordination of the unit's daily operations during the assigned shift
• Assist in directing, organizing and prioritizing shift activities, and ensure the right staff skill mix for safe patient care
• Check that admissions and cases are appropriate to the unit and that staff performance feedback is given
• Participate in interviewing and selecting new staff, and conduct audits of documentation, patient charges and outcomes
• Resolve patient complaints and monitor supply usage and costs at unit level
• Help management keep staff and the department compliant with regulatory and accreditation agencies
• Delegate tasks to RN and non-RN personnel in line with state board and hospital policy, and serve as a role model for ethical, legal and professional nursing practice
• Pursue continuing education and meet Nurse Leaders Rounding requirements

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• 1+ years of clinical RN experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• Effective communication in English, verbal and written
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with the electronic health record (preferred)
• Organizational skills, prioritization, problem-solving and critical thinking
