Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Med Surg (FT Days)

About the role

AdventHealth in Denver is hiring a full-time day-shift Registered Nurse for its orthopedic med-surg unit. The nurse provides direct patient care, develops care plans and works with the medical team. Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases of up to 20% through a voluntary Clinical Ladder Program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state.
• Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs.
• Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred.

Required skills

• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• EKG and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification required.
