Emergency Room Charge Nurse - Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth in Denver is hiring a full-time Emergency Room Charge Nurse for night shifts. The role covers assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education, team supervision and code situations, with a pay range of $35.39 to $65.82.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, monitor for adverse reactions and educate patients and families
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments, keep accurate records and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans
• Follow infection control protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support and supervise and delegate care to the healthcare team
• Take part in performance improvement and respond promptly to code situations

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Bachelor's of Nursing preferred, Associate's of Nursing required
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise care plans

Required skills

• Nursing knowledge of care methods and procedures
• Teamwork and multi-tasking skills
• Verbal and oral communication and problem-solving
• EKG and Advanced Life Support certification (requirements listed separately)
• BLS/CPR certification required
