About the role

Join Ochsner’s team of dedicated nurses delivering exceptional patient care in the Pre‑op and PACU areas of St. Bernard Parish Hospital. This PRN position utilizes the Nursing Process within the Nurse Practice Act and ANA standards, supporting diverse patient populations.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively uses the Nursing Process in the delivery of patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
• Utilizes data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
• Embraces concepts that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and the nursing profession.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification in a clinical specialty area preferred.

Required skills

• Computer data entry and retrieval skills for patient information systems.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and related software packages.
