RN NICU Level III or IV

About the role

AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse for its NICU, working Level III or IV shifts. The schedule is 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m., with 3- to 12-hour shifts during the week and every other weekend, totaling 72 hours per two weeks. The position is full time and day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and self-care.
• Document care in the electronic medical record and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, maintain infection control and safety protocols, and respond promptly to life-threatening situations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• 1+ year of RN NICU Level III or IV experience in an acute care setting.
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
• Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Required skills

• Critical care nursing and knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Proficiency in clinical skills, multi-tasking and bedside manner.
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise care plans.
• Organization, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: previous Cerner EMR, EKG interpretation class and EPIC experience.
