RN – Med/Surg & Orthopaedics

About the role

Join Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, a Magnet‑recognized facility, and work on the 5th Floor Complex Medical Care unit providing peri‑operative and post‑operative care to medical‑surgical and orthopaedic patients. As an RN you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey, interacting directly with patients and families.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical‑surgical and orthopaedic patients.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.

Required profile

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working in a Critical Care area (required within first year).
