About the role

The Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) works on the Stepdown Unit at Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, providing high‑quality, safe care to patients with major medical and surgical diagnoses. This full‑time day shift position offers a supportive environment for those starting a nursing career.

Key responsibilities

Assist patients with personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, weight, and patient transfers under RN supervision.
Perform point‑of‑care testing, pulse oximetry, dressing changes, apply external monitoring devices, and remove urinary Foley catheters.
Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to the RN.
Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms.

Required profile

High School Diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or obtain during hire).
Eligibility for nursing students with at least one clinical rotation or relevant military medical experience.

Required skills

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification (preferred).
