RN Med/Surg Days Contract (36 hrs, $57.75/hr)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 36-hour-per-week Med/Surg days contract at its Fish Memorial facility in Orange City, Florida. The pay is $57.75 per hour. StaffFlex nurses can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states, with flexible assignments and direct employment through AdventHealth.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document actions taken
• Collect and document patient health data systematically and timely
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer, and promote timely patient placement
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families on their conditions and care plans
• Participate in peer interviewing and peer review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure safe handoff communication and documentation
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand hygiene

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• BLS/CPR certification (required); TNCC certification preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients and adjust plans of care
