CT Technologist I

About the role

AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida, is hiring a full-time day-shift CT Technologist I. The technologist performs high-quality CT examinations in line with provider orders and department protocols, while maintaining radiation safety and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform CT scans, reviewing patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify contraindications
• Prepare and administer IV contrast safely, monitoring patients for adverse reactions
• Position patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when needed, while keeping radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Operate imaging equipment safely, including scanners, injectors and monitors, and adapt protocols for patients of all ages
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and PACS systems and educate patients about the exam
• Collaborate with radiologists and other providers to ensure continuity of care
• Follow infection control standards, approved PPE and disinfectants, and department protocols for patient identification, informed consent and time-out procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned, including point-of-care testing when required

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 1+ years of radiology experience and completion of a CT training program preferred
• Registered Radiography Technologist (ARRT) and CT certification (ARRT); BLS/CPR certification required
• Fluent English, able to read, write and speak conversationally
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and departmental policies

Required skills

• Knowledge of CT procedures, scanners and cross-sectional anatomy
• CT safety and radiation protection (ALARA)
• PACS and basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Basic IV competency and IV placement skills
• 3D workstation skills and cardiac and vascular knowledge
• Ability to analyze data, equipment operation and quality control
