Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Telemetry, Night Weekend

About the role

AdventHealth Fish Memorial is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical Telemetry Unit on the night weekend shift. The nurse provides bedside care, monitors patients and coordinates with the medical team. The pay range is $31.85 to $52.76.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors and develop individualized care plans, revising them as needed
• Administer medications and treatments safely, monitor for adverse reactions and respond promptly to code situations
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments and keep accurate medical records
• Follow infection control protocols, safety standards and regulatory requirements
• Provide emotional support, supervise and delegate care to other team members, and take part in performance improvement activities

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Associate's degree in nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• 1+ year of acute care hospital experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Preferred certifications include CCNS, NRP, PEARS, TNCC, ABLS, CCRN-E and others listed

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Ability to work as a team player and strong communication and problem-solving skills
• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and adjust care plans
• EKG interpretation (based on patient; see EKG and ALS requirements)
